Work Group

The
Conservation Work Group looks at how the Task Force can
promote energy conservation. A key focus is to recommend ways to
facilitate energy conservation in member counties' own operations.
Recent projects include:

Overseeing grant activities to conduct recommissioning studies
in county facilities.

Working with
Minneapolis-based Center for Energy and the Environment to
implement the County Government Initiative, an Alternative
Conservation Improvement Plan initiated by the MCETF and CEE and
approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce in May 2007
with the support of Xcel Energy.

Monitoring and participating in the State's Building,
Benchmarking and Beyond (B3) project to obtain energy use data
by counties for purposes of benchmarking energy use and
targeting future conservation efforts.
