The Metro
Wind Energy Work Group leads initiatives to expand the
availability and use of wind energy. This Group also serves as the
liaison to the Rural Minnesota Energy Board, a joint powers board of 17
counties in wind-rich southwestern and southern Minnesota. Recent
projects include an effort to develop a large-scale wind project in
partnership with the RMEB that is intended to stablize energy costs
for counties, support local economic development, and keep a greater
share of investment returns in local communities. |
