About the Greater Metropolitan Workforce Council (GMWC)

The Twin Cities Greater Metropolitan Workforce Council (GMWC) provides oversight and direction to publicly-funded workforce development services in the Twin Cities region. The GMWC includes the Chief Elected Officials of the City of Minneapolis and 11 counties of the metropolitan region; the business leaders who serve as Chairs of each of the Local Workforce Investment Boards in the region; and staff leaders responsible for implementing publicly-funded workforce programs throughout the region.

The GMWC also works through the Employer Services Partnership (ESP) – an operating committee that represents all the interests of the GMWC plus MN State Colleges and Universities through the Metro Consortium for Customized Training, Adult Basic Education providers, the University of Minnesota, private colleges, and other stakeholders.

The GMWC is Chaired by Thomas H. Bodin, President and Managing Partner of O.I. Partners – Organizational Innovations, Inc., a global leader in human resource talent management. Bodin is also Chair of the Hennepin-Carver Workforce Investment Board.
