About the Greater Metropolitan
Workforce Council (GMWC)
The Twin Cities
Greater Metropolitan Workforce Council (GMWC) provides oversight and
direction to publicly-funded workforce development services in the
Twin Cities region. The GMWC includes the Chief Elected Officials of
the City of Minneapolis and 11 counties of the metropolitan region;
the business leaders who serve as Chairs of each of the Local
Workforce Investment Boards in the region; and staff leaders
responsible for implementing publicly-funded workforce programs
throughout the region.
The GMWC also works through the Employer Services Partnership (ESP)
– an operating committee that represents all the interests of the
GMWC plus MN State Colleges and Universities through the Metro
Consortium for Customized Training, Adult Basic Education providers,
the University of Minnesota, private colleges, and other
stakeholders.
The GMWC is Chaired by Thomas H. Bodin, President and Managing
Partner of O.I. Partners – Organizational Innovations, Inc., a
global leader in human resource talent management. Bodin is also
Chair of the Hennepin-Carver Workforce Investment Board.
